Stages of the projectInitial stage: All the participants introduced their local palaces/castles and the surrounding town (assuming that there is one). The activities include:
Stage 'Local tales' In this phase, all participants shall create a comic/storytelling (using the digital tools listed here) demonstrating the local tales from the region surrounding the castles/palaces that they presented. The activities include:
Stage 'My Folk Song' In this stage, pupils will present their traditional songs in their language. Stage 'Coding for culture' *for secondary school pupils* In this activity teachers are looking for engaging games that you can easily implement with your students, the Scratch projects (or other tools) can be used as inspiration for the students’ creations. Younger students (Vasilios' pupils) will test these games. Stage 'Different, yet similar' Pupils will work in international groups and design a poster representing a custom or tradition followed and respected in their countries, discuss their and their partners’ cultural heritage they didn't know about or were not aware. |
The purpose of the projectThe elementary purpose of this project is to take the first step to establishing an intercultural exchange that will continue throughout the project. Further more it¸'s purpose is to expand participants' knowledge of different cultures using interesting stories pertaining to their localities. This will allow a deeper understanding of different cultures and forge deeper bonds between participants which may extend far beyond this project. |
